This 2008 romantic space adventure features themes of love, sustainability, humanity and hope. Do yourself a favor and plan to watch the adorable little robot at Film Club. All are welcome. There will be a discussion to follow.

This special event commemorates the donation of papers related to the Wapsipinicon Almanacto UNI’s Special Collections and University Archives. Timothy Fay will be joined by Jim O’Loughlin and Brian Pals for a look back on the history of the Wapsipinicon Almanac since the magazine launched in 1988 and an explanation of letterpress printing technology.  

This event is free and open to the public.  Sponsors include Final Thursday Press, the Hearst Center for the Arts, the UNI College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences, the UNI Department of Languages & Literatures and the UNI Rod Library Special Collections and University Archives.

The Final Thursday Reading Series is a collaboration of Final Thursday Press, the Hearst Center for the Arts & the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences.  Coffee provided by Sidecar Coffee. Cream provided by Hansen's Farm Fresh Dairy.

Visiting artist Ivan Trevino will present a percussion recital. Trevino is a Mexican-American composer and percussionist who has become a recognizable voice in the percussion community. His honest blend of contemporary, percussive and indie-rock compositions have become standard repertoire in the field of percussion and are regularly performed around the world. He is a multi-award winning recipient of the Percussive Arts Society’s International Composition Contest and has over 70 compositions and songs to his name, many of which were commissioned by leading performers and institutions in the field. This event is free and open to the public.

Former Ambassador John Dinger will be on campus on to give a talk about Cybersecurity and 5G Technology.

From 2006-2012, Ambassador Dinger was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Research in the U.S. State Department. In that role, he established the State Department's first Office of Cyber Affairs and was integral in helping to form basic principles to guide the new field of cyberspace diplomacy. 
During his distinguished career in the State Department, Mr. Dinger also served as Ambassador to Mongolia, and Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, among other positions. He is an alumnus of UNI. 
At 5:00, he will also be speaking to the Model United Nations competition team about his experiences in the Foreign Service and U.S. foreign policy. That event will also take place in Sabin 25.

Bob Inglis is the Executive Director of republicEn.org, a growing group of conservatives who care about climate change. He served in the U.S. Congress from 1993 to 1999 and again from 2005-2011, a Republican representing Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C. His visit is part of UNI's 2018/2019 Aldo Leopold Distinguished Lecture Series.

Hear Sarah Thompson, Certified Body Trust provider, eating disorder recovery coach and consultant, tell their personal story of eating disorder recovery for 18 years. Thompson will address barriers and access to eating disorder treatments, such as fatphobia, homophobia and transphobia.

The Panther Pantry is a student run food and necessity item pantry available to all UNI students. During the open house students can tour the pantry, find more about what the pantry provides, how you can get involved, how to use the pantry or any other questions. Stop by anytime during the event. A door prize will be held at the open house for a chance to win one of 10 dining gift cards.

Andrea Mosby, professional leadership speaker, will speak on the power of personal decisions and leading with integrity. Mosby is known for inspiring students with her personal and leadership stories. A Q&A time will follow. Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded.
