Fall Registration Starts Tuesday

By: Kevin Shannon on Mon, 04/04/2011 - 13:18

Fall Registration for current UNI students starts on Tuesday!  Full information about how to register is available on the Registrar's website:  Your registration date and time is listed online in the MyUNIverse Student Center:  In addition, many students have found it helpful to use the new planner and shopping cart features of the system.  These features allow students to set an entire example academic career instead of a single semester.  In addition, students can add courses from their planner to the shopping cart easily.

As with any new system, students may need help adjusting to the changes.  Students can go to open labs where registrar staff are available to answer any questions.  Open lab times are posted here:  Open labs will be located in Gilchrist throughout the registration period and in Maucker on the first day of registration for each classification (April 5, April 7, April 12, and April 18).  There is also help available online: MyUNIverse > Student Center > Help

As part of the process of preparing for advance registration in the new SIS, the project team recently performed a series of "stress" tests to see how the new system would handle demands placed on it.  The most recent tests show that the new system will handle up to 4,000 concurrent users; the current SIS handles 300.  In addition, registration is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

UNI Summer Class Registration News

By: drupalroot on Wed, 03/09/2011 - 15:33

Are you planning on taking a class here at UNI this summer? NISG enocurages you to take time this week to register for those summer classes, especially for those that will be offered during the May term. On March 15, Deans of the various colleges may choose to cancel May term courses with low enrollments. On April 15, June and July term classes with low enrollments could be cancelled as well. Please take the time to register for summer classes, even if you are not positive you will take them. You may always remove a class from your schedule at a later date (as long as it is before the first day of class) with no penalty.

If you are seriously considering taking a course this summer but are not yet ready to register for the course, you may also write to the instructor for the course to indicate your interest. Please share this news with your classmates and encourage them to register for classes as soon as possible!
