UNI Psychology Department
Psychology is the study of human and animal behavior (normal and abnormal) and the cognitive, emotional, social, and biological processes related to that behavior. Majoring in psychology can prepare an individual for a number of different roles - teacher, researcher, service provider, administrator, or consultant. Psychology is a diverse field with room for students with many different interests and abilities.
The Psychology program at the University of Northern Iowa exemplifies this diversity. While students graduating with a B.A. in Psychology are required to take a sequence of basic Psychology courses including history, methods and statistics, there are a variety of opportunities for students to engage in independent research, work in community service organizations, collaborate with faculty on research projects and mentor other students in selected undergraduate courses.

Website Revamp
The UNI Psychology Department has recently undergone steps to revamp the department website and appreciates the patience its users have exhibited during the difficult construction process. This is the location of the new web site, and hope you will take the time to share any feedback with our web designer.
Improvements underway include:
- Easier and Intuitive User Navigation
- Updated Code Format for Easy Conversion at a Later Date
- Reorganization of Information to Reduce Redundency
- Restyling Framework and Images
The changes are all being made with the eventual total conversion of UNI's associated web sites to the Drupal content management engine.
