On Monday, October 4th a young man was stabbed to death inside of Seerley Hall on the University of Northern Iowa’s campus. While the law enforcement was quick to the crime scene, they did little to further the investigation on that day. The police force, in particular, was so wrapped up in trying to keep media away from the crime scene that they let a few valuable leads slip through their fingers. While they were shoving around the dedicated reporters and camera men, that work hard to serve the people, they let the criminal slip through their hands. After a trusted tip from a reliable source, it is now known that the ruthless stabber had stayed in close proximity to the crime after the slaying occurred. If the police had correctly done their jobs perhaps one more murderer would not be walking the streets. Perhaps it is time that the public ask themselves who the real criminals are.
