What Factors Affect Temperature?

Throughout the "Experiences in Inquiry" workshop, the topic of temperature will be used to practice the five essential features of inquiry. Think-Pair-Share will be used to identify factors that affect surface air temperatures. Workshop participants will compile a list for future reference.

Think-Pair-Share

  1. THINK – Spend a few minutes thinking about factors you think affect temperature. Using the "Factors Worksheet", make a list of what comes to mind.
  2. PAIR – Choose a partner. Share your lists with one another. Do your lists match? Do you agree/disagree with the factors on your partner’s list? Generate a new combined list based on your discussion.
  3. SHARE – Be prepared to share your combined list with the larger group. Add and subtract to your combined list, if necessary, as others share with the large group.
