UNI Email System Information


Web Based Mail

KNOWN ISSUES WITH WEBACCESS:


There is a known, but rare, issue with WebAccess, causing users to be unable to open some types of attachments. We are currently working with vendor support to get this issue resolved. The WebMail client is not experiencing this issue.


The WebAccess client supports the following Web browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 6 or 7 (Windows)

  • Mozilla 1.7.3 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)

  • Firefox 1.0 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)

Netscape and Safari browsers are not supported. Accessibility mode is supported in Internet Explorer only. Please use the WebMail client below, if you are using these browsers.


Additionally, to use this client you must:

  • Disable any pop-up blockers in your web browser.

  • Enable Javascript in your web browser.

There is a known, common, issue with WebMail, causing it to sporadically generate the error "Invalid Application State". We are currently working with vendor support to get this resolved. The WebAccess client is not experiencing this issue but functions best with high speed internet. Information on WebAccess requirements are listed above.


The WebMail client is best suited for users of older web browsers (Netscape, Safari, etc) or dial-up connections.

Desktop Email Clients

Desktop email clients such as Thunderbird and Outlook are good alternatives for checking your UNI email, regardless of internet speed. Configuration instructions for desktop email clients can be found here.

Mailing Lists

The university maintains a variety of mailing lists. It is also possible for members of the university community to request their own mailing list.
