UNI has a centralized Career Services office specifically for that purpose. It provides career advising; resume and cover letter development; job and internship postings; sponsors on-campus interviews and career fairs; teaches career-readiness skills; conducts mock interviews; and oversees the Cooperative Education and Internship Program. To learn more about these and other services, visit their website at <www.uni.edu/careerservices>.
Through the Cooperative Education and Intership Program, Career Services helps to set up art- and design-related intern and/or cooperative education positions for our undergraduates. Some of these positions are paid, while others are not, but in each case the student receives academic course credits while working part-time (or full-time in the summer) for businesses or non-profit organizations.
In recent years, students have held internships at museums, art centers, public relations firms, advertising agencies, magazine offices, web design studios, printing firms, and so on. In the Department of Art, internships for credit do not usually take place until the student’s junior year. http://www.uni.edu/careerservicesshapeimage_1_link_0
