Cardio Classes

Cardio HIIT- 50 min.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an interval based training technique that uses relatively short, intense cardiovascular bursts, alternated with less intense recovery intervals. This is a great class to pull you out of a cardio rut and improve your aerobic power and endurance.

30/30/30 - 90 min. - Voted Best New Class!

An effective combination of cardio, strength, and core exercises for a total body workout. Every muscle group is engaged through 30 minutes of various cardio activities. Classes can include kickboxing, Dome stairs plus 30 minutes of toning, and using free weights and bands plus 30 minutes of core activities using BOSU, medicine balls and body weight resistance. Spin Yoga Fusion - 75 min.

Beginning Spinnercise - 45 min.

Is your body new to exercise or have you never tried indoor cycling before? This class is for you! Spinnercise allows you options to increase and decrease intensity based on your fitness level. The instructor will lead you through rolling hills, climbs, and speed sprints, helping you build your fitness stamina while still having fun. Towel and water bottle required.

Kickboxing x2- 50 min. Voted Most Popular!

Kickboxing x2 is an addictive workout combining shadow boxing, kickboxing, sports drills, and sparring in a party atmosphere. This is an interval-based workout that will give you both cardio conditioning and full body toning! For all levels, this class is fun, exciting, and empowering.

Boot Camp 1,2,3 - 50 min.

Try this high intensity creative workout which includes lots of cardio conditioning plus strength and core work. Class meets in various locations, both inside and outdoors. Class will progress through three levels in four-week increments. Level one will be basic beginning, level two will progress in intensity and challenges in both cardio and strength, and level three will bring you to your top fitness level. You will set personal challenges and goals along the way! If you are ready to take your fitness to the next level but are not sure how to get there, try this class!

Fitness Extreme Makeover (FXM) - 50 min.

Back by popular demand! Register for FXM and choose from 7 different classes. Work out 2, 3, or 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Class options include kickboxing, cycling, boot camp, strength conditioning, TRX Suspension training, and more. Some of our best instructors will be pushing you each and every day! Tread and Sculpt - 50 min.

No more boring one-speed treadmill routines! This class will lead you through a variety of treadmill workouts to push your limits. The instructor will have you climbing, sprinting, recovering, changing intensity, repeat- ing intervals, and sculpting every muscle in your body for the ultimate workout. Whether beginner or exercise veteran, if you like to run and you want some motivation, this class is for you! FEE: $25.

Dance Classes

Nia Dance and Movement - 50 min. - NEW!

Amp your conditioning with movement and energy in every step, combining selected movements and concepts from yoga, tai chi, tae kwon do, aikido, jazz, modern dance, and other movement forms. Nia classes offer total body cardiovascular conditioning and cross-training for any sport or activity. All Nia movements are adaptable and can be personalized for any fitness level. This great cardiovascular workout suspends you in the water by the support of an aqua jogging belt. Develop your core strength while performing exercises such as jogging, skiing, and scissors. Use equipment to create resistance to work your every muscle. Class is for anyone who is comfortable in deeper water.

Adult Swim Lessons - 50 min.

Small personalized class for persons of all abilities who want to learn basic swimming skills or who wish to perfect their strokes. Running Club (FASTR) - UNI Faculty and Staff Team Running Club

This club is designed for employees of UNI and their families who like to run. The group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 am and Saturdays at 7:00 am. You don’t have to run fast or go far; just join the camaraderie of other runners whatever your pace. Join the group for one day or all three. Intuitive Eating Workshop

This six-week workshop is especially designed for the chronic dieter. Participants will learn how to reject the diet mentality, deal with feel- ings without using food, honor hunger and stop eating when satisfied, normalize the relationship with food, and practice the principles of intuitive eating. Land Aerobics Instructor Training

This course covers all aspects of teaching kickboxing, boot camp, interval training, strength conditioning, and indoor cycling. Participants must be current UNI students and commit to teaching at least 3 semesters after training is complete. FEE: $95.

This informative workshop gives you the tools to create vinyasa yoga classes.
