The 2013 Diversity Matters Awards Nominations are currently being accepted. The awards are presented annually at the Town Hall Meeting on Diversity. All faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to attend the meeting as well as the diversity fair prior to the town hall meeting.
St. Stephen The Witness Catholic Student Center presents veteran musician, composer and youth minister Steve Angrisano in a Christmas concert: Celebrate the SPIRIT of Christmas. The Center for Multicultural Education (CME) will host a reception for the exhibit of the heritage of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois through distinguished portrait prints of the Sauk and Fox Indians.This traveling exhibit is on loan from the Muscatine Art Center. The portraits and explanations appear in the lobby area of the CME. There will be a discussion about this portraiture history in the CME's multipurpose room at 12:30 p.m.
This is an annual winter clothes drive for the Salvation Army. The run will be starting with check in at 9pm at the UNI Alumni house. The race will begin at 9:30. It’s only $5 for a t-shirt and donations of clothing for the Salvation Army would be appreciated.Registration is at www.unialum.org/polar-bare-run

Since the military coup in 2009, Honduras has been in a human rights crisis. The
Honduran military and police, responsible for egregious human rights violations, have received millions
from the United States in arms and training. Tomas Gómez Membreño is visiting us at from Honduras, where he works for the non-profit Indigenous rights organization COPINH (Civic Council of Popular Indigenous Organizations).
COPINH has been working to expose the role of the United States in the coup and its aftermath.

PRSSA has sponsored a 5K run/walk charity event for more than 20 years. This year “strip & go run” runners will donate a piece of clothing at five checkpoints during the race to benefit St. Vincent’s De Paul Society. Pre-registration is $20; race day registration is $25.
