In celebration of Women's History Month, the Crafting Panthers Club will teach participants how to crochet or knit. Attendees can also choose to work on their own crafting projects.
The Film Appreciation Club will screen the cult classic "Barton Fink," directed by the Coen Brothers.
Relay for Life participants can turn in cash or checks already raised at Bank Night. All checks should be made out to "American Cancer Society." UNI relay t-shirts and shirts will be available for sale. Members of the Hope Club or those who have raised $100 can pick up a 2016 Hope Club t-shirt. Ruth Buckels, mother of a human trafficking survivor, will speak on the importance of education, awareness, prevention and observation.
Vanessa McNeal, UNI graduate student and survivor of familial sexual abuse and sexual assault, will provide opening remarks before introducing her 15-minute film "We are Survivors." The film features the stories of eight other survivors of sexual violence. Three of the survivors attend UNI. Following the film, McNeal, UNI survivors and victim advocates will join a panel discussion that focuses on ways to support, empower and encourage survivors.
Campus Acitivities Board will host a trip to Mall of America for a day of shopping and rollercoaster rides. Tickets are $10 plus $5 for a day pass to Nickelodeon Universe. Tickets will be on sale Wednesday, March 23, to Friday, April 1 in the CAB office, Maucker Union.
Najeeba Syeed, Claremont School of Theology, will present "Towards a Social Justice Framework for Interfaith Cooperation." Syeed will offer examples from her peacemaking work and provide tools for this framework for peace.
The LGBT* Center will host an LGBTQ+ Art Exhibition displaying artwork that shows compassion and awareness for the LGBTQ+ community. Submissions of all mediums will be accepted at the LGBT* Center or by arrangement until 4 p.m., Friday, April 1. Artists are encouraged to donate their work after the exhibition to display in the LGBT* Center. There will be an Art Gay-la and awards ceremony at 5 p.m., Sunday, April 3, in the Dean's Triangle, KAM.
