North Star Community Services will host two sessions for volunteers to paint canvases. Participants shoud meet by the CME for busing to North Star. The canvases will be sold later at an auction to help raise fund for North Star Community Services. The sessions will from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. and 12:20 to 1:45 p.m.
The Service and Leadership Council will host a Service Night that will include various small service projects. Service projects include making dog and cat toys as well as nursing home decorations.
NorthEast Iowa Food Bank will host a backpack program. Participants should meet by the CME for busing to the food bank. Backpacks will be prepared for children who do not have enough food to eat at home.
Green Iowa Americorps will have two sessions to help clean up Cedar Falls city parks. Participants should meet by the CME for busing to each destination. The sessions will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register for the session that best fits your schedule. Free t-shirts will be provided.
This Stop and Serve events will be making literacy kits for the People's Community Health Center in Waterloo. The literacy kits will help children gain access to books.
This Stop and Serve event will be cutting t-shirts to create re-usable bags.
The SAE fraternity will host an all-you-can-eat grilled cheese and soup meal. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Tickets are available from SAE members. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
SigEp brothers will hand out cookies and informational pamphlets to thank individuals that participated in SAAW while asking for donations for Cedar Valley Friends of the Family.
A Mentors in Violence Prevention session will be facilitated by SigEp brothers to educate on how to be active bystanders and do their part in preventing sexual assault.
A women's self defense class will be taught by university police officer Andrea Jennings. The class will feature education and self-defense techniques.
