View the evening sky at the UNI Observatory.   Constellations and other interesting objects in the night sky will be pointed out, and objects may also be viewed through the UNI telescope.  Meet before 9 PM outside of MSH 137, near the polar bear.  The event starts promptly and there is no admission for late arrivals.  Electronic devices, such as cameras, smart phones, etc, must not be used during the show.  No food, or drink is allowed.  This event is free and open to the public.

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Science Education Update Conference for current and future teachers is an one-day conference on Friday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that focuses on issues and topics related to Grades K-12 science and STEM featuring breakout and workshop sessions as well as exhibits and a keynote presentation.  Participants will be provided the instructional resources and strategies that can be implemented in the classrooms.  The Update Conference is funded by a foundation grant provided by Dr. Robert & Brenda Good.

Faculty artist and conductor John Wiles will coordinate this interactive event, featuring treble-voiced chorus ensembles and members from Iowa high schools, as well as UNI’s own Cecilians. The event will culminate in an evening concert at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public, but the festival does require registration. From the studio of Hannah Porter-Occeña, music student Alaina Stoltenberg will present a flute recital with Serena Hou, piano. This event is free and open to the public.

This conference is offered on two dates and in two locations!  Open to all pre-service teacher education students at colleges and universities across Iowa, as well as interested faculty.
