Visiting artist Jerry Young will offer a tuba recital. Young is Professor Emeritus of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Wisconsin-Eu Claire, and has been a member of the music faculty at UW-Eau Claire since 1983. Young served on the faculty of the Interlochen Arts Camp from 1983 to 1993 where he founded the Interlochen Tubafest and performed regularly as a soloist and chamber musician. Dr. Young has appeared across the U.S., Europe, and Japan as a soloist, chamber musician, clinician, lecturer, and adjudicator. This event is free and open to the public.
Members of the UNI Cantorei, Wind Symphony and Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra will collaborate under the direction of conductor John Len Wiles to present a cantata (selection to be announced) by J.S. Bach. This event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of guest conductor Jason Weinberger, the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra will offer its fall concert "Symphonic Gems." The concert will feature pianist Sean Botkin performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, as well as works by Mozart and Mussorgsky. This event is ticketed. For tickets, call 319-273-4TIX.
Brass faculty members will collaborate to present this chamber music recital. Collaborators and repertoire to be announced. This event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of UNI School of Music faculty artist and conductor Amy Kotsonis the UNI Singers will offer a shared fall choral music concert with the UNI Women’s Chorus. This event is free and open to the public.

Visiting artist John Thorne will present a flute recital. Thorne joined the Bienen School faculty as associate professor of flute after having been the Associate Principal Flute of the Houston Symphony from 1992 until 2012. Previously, he has held the position of Principal Flute with the San Antonio Symphony and the Florida West Coast Symphony (now called the Sarasota Orchestra). This event is free and open to the public.
