A photographic exhibition featuring the work of Colorado-based artist Denis Roussel. The artist will present a public lecture at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, in Kamerick Art Building (KAB) room 111. An opening reception will follow.
Led by UNI Women's and Gender Studies alum Lata D'Mello and other professionals working on research and prevention of sexual assault, this discussion panel will focus on raising awareness about sexual assault through a cultural lens. The conversation will explore what sexual assault and domestic violence justice would look like, especially in immigrant and minority communities, and how college students can help address these issues. This event is sponsored by Women's and Gender Studies.
Staff from the Recycling and Reuse Technology Transfer Center (RRTTC) will be located at a table in Maucker Union across from Chats. Students will have the opportunity to sign a pledge to take one step toward being greener in their daily lives. Students pledging to be more sustainable will receive a gift from the RRTTC. Staff will also talk about what it means to be green and provide ideas on how to be more sustainable.
The Office of International Programs will host Andy Riess, Ph.D., assistant director of outreach for the Fulbright Scholar Program in Washington, D.C. Faculty are invited to attend a workshop from 3-4 p.m. in the Elm Room, MAU, to learn about the Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program; a Q & A session will follow in the International Programs Conference Room, 113 MAU.
