An alumna of UNI, she directs the BFA program in creative writing at the University of Maine – Farmington. Prairie heritage reception and showing of the award-winning documentary film telling the story of the most astonishing alterations of nature in human history. A discussion of future prospects for the tallgrass prairie will follow.
A prairie walk at UNI Tallgrass Prairie Center's "Hayfield Prairie" will commemorate Iowa Prairie Heritage Week. The walk will be led by Daryl Smith and Bruce Stiles. Meet at the west end of 31st Street Exit west off Hudson Road and park after you pass the "Road Closed" sign.
The Study Abroad Fair will will feature more than 40 exhibitors. Representatives from the Black Hawk County Recorders Office will be there to assist in renewing or applying for a new passport. Learn about study abroad opportunities, financial aid, scholarships, credit transfer and internship-research volunteer abroad. Past participants, faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions. Admission is free.
