TheatreUNI: Courage and Her Daughters

Adapted by Matt Weedman

Determined to scratch out a living for herself and three children by selling booze and trinkets to the armies of the Thirty Years War, Anna Fierling refuses to see, until it is far too late, the great and terrible consequences of war. Mother Courage, by Bertolt Brecht, is one of the crowning literary accomplishments of the 20th century and a masterpiece of storytelling and epic theatre.
