Numerous offices, departments and student organizations participate in Interational Education Week and offer programs and events throughout the week promoting international education. Everyone is welcome to participate in activities offered.
The Study Abroad Center will have a summer study abroad fair with information about summer programs. Many capstone programs are still accepting applications.
The Study Abroad Fair will feature more than 50 exhibitors. Attendees will learn about study abroad opportunities and meet past participants, faculty and staff. Information about financial aid, scholarships, credit transfer, international travel, and study-work-internship-research volunteer abroad opportuities will be available. Admission is free. Passport Day will be observed during the fair. The Black Hawk County Recorder's office will assist with passport renewals or applications for new passports.
UNI welcomes its new international students to campus with a mix of information sessions, social events and recreational activities.
International Students and Scholars Office will sponsor a ski trip. The cost is $63 for transportation to and from Sundown, lift ticket, lesson and ski or snowboard rental. Departure time is 9 a.m.; returning to campus no later than 8 p.m. The registration deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, in the ISSO office, 113 Maucker Union. Payment must be made in cash and exact change only. Space is limited; tickets are first-come, first-served. A waiver of liability is required to be completed at the time of registration. The Study Abroad Center will host Florence University of the Arts (FUA) representative Massimo Coppetti; he will discuss opportunities available to study in Italy for a semester or summer.
The International Students and Scholars Office will sponsor a day trip to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. The Mall of America is the largest shopping mall in the United States and offers countless shopping opportunities as well as numerous attractions, dining options and more. Cost is $20. Complete the Mall of America sign-up form (see event link) and come to ISSO, 113 Maucker Union, by Monday, Nov. 9, to pay and receive your ticket. Payments must be made in cash and exact change only. Space is limited; tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are required to print, sign and date the Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and submit it to ISSO when paying for a ticket.
