Graduate Student Information Meeting

Schedule for Graduate Student Information meeting:

  • Resource Fair from 3-3:30 p.m.; learn about campus resources and services
  • Welcome by Bill Ruud, president, and Michael Licari, dean, Graduate College
  • Chris Cox, dean, Rod Library, will "pull back the curtain" on the scholarly secrets held in the Rod Library, providing essential knowledge relating to its collections, services and student spaces.
  • Graduate student panel will share tips to help make the academic, social and lifestyle transitions necessary for success as a graduate student

Graduate Student Symposium

The Sixth Annual Graduate Student Symposium will include poster presentations, oral presentations and creative performances. Forty graduate students are scheduled to participate in the event. Oral and poster presentations are scheduled from noon-3 p.m. in Maucker Union. Creative performances are scheduled from 6:30-9 p.m. in Davis Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to attend.

Graduate College Brown Bag Lecture Series: "Porn Chic: Exploring the Contours of Raunch Eroticism"

Annette Lynch, director of the Center for Violence Prevention and a professor in the School of Applied Human Sciences, will introduce her newly released book "Porn Chic: Exploring the Contours of Raunch Eroticism." The book focuses on the mainstreaming of pornographic imagery into fashion and popular culture, with a focus on exploring the relationship of this trend to gender-based violence, male gaze and expression of sexual agency.  Bring your lunch; cookies will be provided by the Graduate College.
