The Center for Environmental Energy and Education in conjunction with Green Iowa AmeriCorps and Sustainable Schools AmeriCorps will host an Environmental Job Fair. There are approximately 35 full-time positions as Environmental Stewards in seven different locations across Iowa. Positions range from marketing, outreach, education, energy efficiency auditors and logistics coordinators. The Sustainable Schools Program is seeking sustainability coordinators to work with schools to improve their environmental impact. Greens to Go is looking for two new AmeriCorps Vista members to help with providing affordable, local, natural and healthy food to low income families in the Cedar Valley. Take a guided tour of UNI's National Science Foundation Materials Testing Lab to learn how robots assist designers in selecting the best fabrics for their designs. These robots wash, sun bleach, rip and rub fabric to test its limits. Watch a short film about sewing robots and chat with faculty and UNI STEM ambassadors about technology in the fashion industry. The tour is approximately 15 minutes; the movie is about five minutes. The first 50 K-12 students will receive a free UNI STEM string backpack.
University of Iowa Professor of Art Susan Chrysler White juries this annual competitive exhibition, which features the finest recent works of students enrolled in classes in the UNI Department of Art. Awards Ceremony and Opening Reception: March 20 at 7:00 p.m. in KAB 111.
Susan Chrysler White, painter and public art sculptor, is Professor of Art at the University of Iowa. White is the 2017 juror for the UNI Gallery of Art's "Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition," a competition for students enrolled in art classes in the UNI Department of Art.

The 1976 Jordan tornado and the 2008 Parkersburg tornado are the two most recent F5/EF5 tornadoes to hit Iowa.

A discussion of race and community follows, featuring Lou Bellamy, artistic director of the Penumbra Theatre in St. Paul, the largest African-American theatre company in the U.S.
