The UNI School of Music Suzuki School will present a recital featuring Suzuki faculty artists. This event is free and open to the public.
Visiting ensemble the Brandon Lewis Quartet will present a jazz concert. This ensemble features Brandon Lewis, trumpet, Kevin Theodore, piano, Ben Carr, bass, and David Frazier, drums. Founder Brandon Lewis started his formal advanced training in trumpet and music performance at the University of Northern Iowa, and then moved to New York City to continue his freelance music career and received a master’s degree in Jazz Performance from SUNY Purchase College. This event is free and open to the public.
Members of the UNI Cantorei, Wind Symphony and Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra will collaborate under the direction of conductor John Len Wiles to present this performance as part of the Northern Iowa Bach Cantata Series. This event is free and open to the public.
The UNI Trumpet Ensemble, under the direction of faculty artist Randy Grabowski, will present a concert. This event is free and open to the public.
Visiting artist Craig Hultgren will present a cello recital. Hultgren teaches at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the Alabama School of Fine Arts and Birmingham-Southern College where he directed the BSC New Music Ensemble. A cellist in the Alabama Symphony, he also plays in Luna Nova, a new music ensemble with a large repertoire of performances available as podcast downloads on iTunes. This event is free and open to the public.
School of Music professors Mariko Morita and Randall Harlow will coordinate a student recital from the organ studio at UNI. This event is free and open to the public.
