The Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra will visit the UNI campus and offer a performance as part of Sigma Alpha Iota's Province Day event. The Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra is a jazz big band made up of women musicians from across the state dedicated to showcasing and encouraging the participation of women and girls in jazz. This event is free and open to the public.

In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard, a young, gay student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in a lonely field under a blanket of stars. His death sparked a worldwide and ongoing conversation about the costs of hate and the importance of acceptance. This three-part fusion oratorio speaks with a fresh and bold voice, incorporating a variety of musical styles seamlessly woven into a unified whole. The UNI Concert Chorale will perform, under direction of conductor John Wiles. This event is ticketed.

UNI Trombone Studio will host this one-day event that focuses on trombone performance and pedagogy. Events will include masterclasses, Q&A sessions, and performances by attendees, UNI students, and guest artists. Open to middle school and up.
