The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will present a chemistry-themed demonstration show during Family Weekend.
The UNI Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), in collaboration with students from biology, physics and earth science, will host a “Halloween House.” This event is free and open to the public. Costumes are welcome. The activities are intended for elementary age children, but can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
Emily Smith, Iowa State University, will present "Raman Spectroscopy Measurements of Thin Polymer Films and Nanomaterials for Energy Applications."
Danan Dou, John Deere Power Systems, will present "Chemistry and Engineering in Product Development for Diesel Engine Emission Reduction."

Chemistry and Biochemistry Summer Undergraduate Research students will give research presentations on their summer work.

Krysten Shipley, certified genetic counselor at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa, will be the speaker.
Jaci Donath, former CSI in Kansas City, will present, "Outside the Lab: Evidence Collection Careers in Forensic Science."
