Bill Clohesy, professor of philosophy, will present “’We the People’: Trust in Public Discourse.” Freedom of religion and secular government are inseparable in the American republic.  This talk explores the Constitution’s secular promise of respect for both politics and religion—if we choose to accept it. Today, numerous opponents would undo both secular republican government and respect for religious diversity. Bobby Henline is a wounded Iraqi War Veteran who's vehicle hit an I.E.D. that killed all four members of his crew. He would be the only one to survive and experienced burns on more than 40% of his body. He now persues his dream of stand-up comedy, while telling his traumatic story. Panther Open Houses are held several times throughout the year for prospective high school and transfer students. You and your family can meet with faculty members and talk about majors, minors, classes – all things academics. You’ll get the inside scoop from current UNI students who will take you on a tour of campus and eat lunch with you in one of our dining centers. Your campus visit wraps up with a group session on admission requirements, financing your education and living on campus.

View the night sky through the computer controlled telescope at the Earth and Environmental Science Observatory. This event is free and open to the public. Meet before 8 p.m. to get to the observatory (near the polar bear). No late admissions will be allowed; no food or drink and no cellphones or other electronic devices can be used during the observatory visit.

Adopt-A-Platoon is a program that strives to provide better deployment quality of life by sending cards, letters and care packages to lift the morale of troops deployed overseas. Items include: canned items, condiments, ground coffee, microwavable foods, powdered drink mix (singles), snack foods and toiletries.
