Department of Residence to host 'Nightmare in Piazza'

There will be a fright-filled lunch from 11:15 am to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31, in the Piazza Dining Center. Dine among ghouls and goblins as you choose from food items on a special Halloween-themed menu. There will even be a costume contest to win a one-of-a-kind mask.

'Popular Protest and the American Radical Tradition: From Abolitionism to Black Lives Matter'

Wallace Hettle, professor of history, will host a lecture on African-American protests including abolitionism, black nationalism, trade unions and the civil rights movement at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the University Room of Maucker Union. A panel of students who have been directly involved in dissent or protest will also present their experiences. The event is sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.

UNI to induct students into Teacher Education Program

The UNI College of Education will host its bi-annual Teacher Education Induction Convocation at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Parents and friends of the candidates are invited along with UNI faculty and administrators.
