CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Elaine Eshbaugh, associate professor of gerontology at the University of Northern Iowa, will host a lecture on Alzheimer's and dementia from noon to 12:50 p.m., Friday, March 29, in Latham Hall, Room 125.
The lecture will focus on common misconceptions about Alzheimer's and dementia, as well as the difference between these two conditions. It will also include tips and ideas for positive interactions with people who have Alzheimer's.
"Because of our aging population, Alzheimer's and dementia are growing concerns," says Eshbaugh. "People are living longer, and that means more people are afflicted with these diseases. Despite that, the general public still has a very low level of knowledge."
