2016 Grand Marshal: Bob Justis & family

2016 Grand Marshal

We're excited to have Bob Justis as our 2016 Homecoming Grand Marshal! Justis graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1965 and from UNI in 1974, after enlisting in the Army and serving as a Counter Intelligence agent for 3 years. Bob returned to UNI to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Business.

Following graduation, Justis went to work as Assistant Director for Development in the UNI Alumni and Foundation. The majority of time in that position was spent raising funds to build the UNI-Dome with former Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Stan Sheriff and other community leaders. After six years in that position, he was hired as Director of Public Relations and Development at Allen Memorial Hospital (now Unity Point) and Allen College. Twenty years later he became President of the Cedar Falls Chamber of Commerce (which later merged with the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce) where he stayed until his retirement in June 2013. Justis is now in his 42nd year as the "Voice of the Panthers," public address announcer for UNI football and men's basketball.

Grand Marshal Family
Justis' wife is former UNI Sports Information Director Nancy Justis, and daughter Nicole Justis Ubben is also a UNI grad. She current resides in Waterloo with husband Cody and the Justis' two grandsons--Jaden age 8 and Brandon age 6. All bleed Purple and Gold!

Favorite Memory
