The Office of the Dean of Students is pleased to introduce Allyson Rafanello as the new Student Assistance and Outreach Coordinator in the Dean of Students Office. Allyson’s role in the Dean of Students Office will be coordinating principal support and intervention for students of concern; administering the student conduct system; and supporting strategic initiatives including LGBT* outreach and assistance. Allyson received her Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and her BA from Indiana University. She has spent the last eight years working in Student Affairs helping students succeed. She has experience in residence life, student conduct, student crisis, and diversity initiatives.
During her interview, Allyson highlighted her desire to work in a collaborative environment in which we listen and advocate for students to help them be successful, whatever that success may mean to them individually. A favorite mantra is “taking things from good to great.” I look forward to Allyson putting that to work in the Dean of Students Office. We are excited about the experience Allyson brings to the position and are looking forward to her arrival date of March 4.
We are confident Allyson will quickly establish herself on campus and start making a positive difference for our students at critical times in their college career. Please join me in welcoming Allyson to UNI. Allyson can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-273-7153 after March 4.
