Counseling Center

“Let’s talk” is a program that provides easy access to informal and confidential consultations with staff members from the UNI Counseling Center.  Professional, licensed staff from the counseling center hold walk-in hours as indicated below.  There are no fees, and you do not have to make an appointment.

Fridays  2:00 – 4:00 pm at Rod Library Rooms 311 and 312

Group Counseling

Group counseling involves meeting with 6 to 8 other students with similar problems to discuss those areas that interfere with your ability to function at an optimal level.

Groups are led by one or two staff members

Students are usually asked to make a commitment to staying in the group for at least one semester.

Groups we typically offer include:

  • Sexual Abuse Support
  • Eating Disorder Support
  • Interpersonal Relationships

After Hours Crisis/Emergency
