Iowa Reading K-8 Endorsement

Step one: Express your interest

To be notified about new Reading Endorsement course offerings, please complete the online interest form on the Overview tab and we will contact you as information becomes available. Students may begin the course sequence in the Summer or Fall semester. The information below remains for reference only. Both the Summer and Fall 2016 cohorts are full.

Step two: Determine the courses you need

If you are a graduate of UNI for your Elementary Education K-6 licensure, the best way to get started with regard to the Iowa K-8 Reading Endorsement is to work with Cathy Humke in the Registrar's Office at 319-273-2245 or to determine the courses you need to take to complete the endorsement. Upon receipt of the evaluation, proceed to step three.

If you are not a graduate of UNI, but hold an Iowa elementary K-6 license, you should move to step three and enroll for any of the courses offered in the summer or fall. The spring courses require a prerequisite, which is offered in the fall semester.

Step three: Enroll in a course

The next step is to enroll in a course. Please visit the program schedule page for course details and enrollment information for the Summer 2016 courses.

Questions about enrollment can be directed to, 319-273-2504 or 800-772-1746.
