Physical Education: Teaching/Coaching (MA)

This program prepares teachers and coaches to be effective and reflective educators while providing for the professional development needs of PK-12 Physical Education teachers and coaches. Focus on linking practice to theory while broadening your understanding of the educational processes as they relate to the physical education teaching and learning environment.

This program is designed for teachers currently working in a K-12 physical education setting. Students will not be awarded a physical education teaching license upon completion of the program.

Course delivery

During fall and spring semesters, courses are scheduled in eight-week modules via Adobe Connect on select Monday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Some courses and coursework are offered online using eLearning, a Blackboard learning management system requiring Internet access and a web browser. Summer sessions may meet more frequently through Adobe Connect.

While most students encounter very few technical difficulties with our online courses, our team of support specialists is available to assist you as needed.
