MUS ED 5133 WKSP: The Process Within Planning -- 1 unit(s)

Attendees will focus on the process of lesson planning in elementary general music education, with an emphasis on Orff Schulwerk. These sessions will not only focus on the content of quality Orff Schulwerk lessons at the elementary level, but also on how to implement high quality activities that inspire and empower students to be creative music makers. Implementing movement, singing, body percussion, recorders, barred instruments, and unpitched percussion, each workshop will lead participants through the necessary steps to design and deliver effective and efficient lessons to children in a musical setting that promote sequential development of both cognitive and enactive learning. At the conclusion of all three workshops, participants will have experienced and have an understanding of planning lessons that focus on the process of quality music making by their students.
