The organizers of this session seek papers on 14th or 15th century disputations. Possible topics include, but are not restricted to, debate in schools, synods or courts; the rules for debate in rhetorical manuals or courtensy books; debates in discourse, such as debate poetry, rebuttals of widespread ideas or letters of refutation.
Volume 5 (2000) of Disputatio will feature a collection of articles on late medieval disputations. Participants on this panel may have the opportunity to publish their work.
