 Lodging in Managua: CEPAD Nehemiah Guesthouse (NGH), tel: 270-5017 or 270-5018. Taxi directions: de la Rotonda El Periodista, 200 varas al sur, 200 varas arriba, contiguo a la Universidad del Valle.

 Delegation Objectives:

l         To reflect as Global Citizens the value of learning about and understanding other cultures

l         To know more about the work and ministry of CEPAD.

l         To work side-by-side with Nicaraguans in their community work

l         To get to know Nicaraguans in their daily life with all the challenges and hopes they have, spiritually, socially, economically and politically.

 Monday, May 7

5:20pm       Arrive (need $5 each for immigration), transfer to Nehemias Guest

             Dinner, settle into room

             Orientation, Hopes and Fears, Introduction to Campo

 Tuesday, May 8

7:30am       Breakfast

8:30am       Introduction to Cepad-Anita Taylor

10:00am      Coyuntura-Aynn Setright- History and Development of Nicaragua

12:00pm      Lunch

1:00pm       Tour Managua-Peace Plaza

             “Esperanza in Action” Fair Trade Organization

 Wednesday to Saturday, May 9 to 12

Go to community

Work on Construction of houses

Stay in home stays, but all meals together as a group with group discussions

 Sunday, May 13

Morning worship (cultural experience)

Afternoon play with kids, chat, etc.  (we’ll take items along after orientation discussions)

Possible Community or Women’s Meeting

Time with community leaders and organizations

 Monday, May 14

After breakfast, Return to Managua

            Evening Discussion with Instructor

Tuesday, May 15

7:30am      Breakfast

8:30am      visit Women’s Sewing Co-op Jubilee House (Free Trade Zone)

12:00pm     Lunch

1:30pm      Visit PRESTANIC, development and credit provider and 1 or 2 beneficiary projects

6:00pm      Dinner at NGH

7:30am    Depart for Rancho Ebenezer, research and training facility for agriculture

Noon                Lunch at Scenic overlook

Dia turistico-, live volcano, shopping at Masaya Market

Dinner in restaurant in Managua
