Muchas Manos Light Work

Meeting held with three members – Gloria Adams, Yin-Ya Huang, and Chelse Monnier -- and advisor Chris Schrage present.

Chris will find out if the second football will be signed or not by tomorrow so we will know if we will do another raffle.

We discussed future fundraising ideas and the need to look for more ideas.

· Hy-Vee pies donations.

· Hy-Vee coupon books.

· Wal-mart matching funds.

· Papa John’s pizza cards.

· Veridan has some fundraising thing? Dawn please let us know if you have more information.

· Thrivent Foundation.

· Hansen Foundation out of Winnebago.

· Cover letter with brochure to send to churches in larger cities with a large Latino population. (Marshalltown and also local churches.) Chelse will write a cover letter draft for the next meeting with a focus on raising money for the scholarships. She will also look at changing the brochure to a mail-able design so we don’t have to spend money on an envelope.

· Ask the Taiwanese government for funds. Yin-ya will check on this.

Everyone keep thinking of ideas for fundraisers!

Other project ideas include:

· A drive for old computers and digital cameras.

· Register for NGO status in Nicaragua.

Gloria and Yin-Ya shared pictures from the Osage trip. Gloria will write the minutes of the trip and Chris will put them on the website.

The scholarship application form is on the website in English/Spanish.

The next meeting will be January 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Chris’s house. She’s making chili and S’mores. Everyone please make your best efforts to be at the meeting so we can get the most ideas and most things accomplished.
