Professor & Program Coordinator Electrical Engineering Technology (EET)

I am a professor and program coordinator of Electrical Engineering Technology Program at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). I am also a graduate program coordinator of the Dept of (Ind) Technology. I joined to UNI in Fall 1998 as an assistant professor, and was tenured and promoted to an associate professor in April 2004, and a full professor in February 2010.
I have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Wyoming, an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado at Boulder, an MS degree in Computer and Control Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from ITU. I have taught a number of undergraduate and graduate level classes and accomplished scholarly service including undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, new BS and MS degree programs establishment, outreach, and research in Electrical Engineering and Technology institutions for more than 15 years.
My research areas are on electrical power sytems and renewable energy applications including wind, solar, and Hydrogen fuel-cell systems. I am a director of solar electric boat development center at UNI promoting clean energy boating technologies for Iowa lakes and rivers.
