Spanish = 4d. language of the world
Portuguese = 6d. language of the world
French= 11 d. language of the world		 You only need 21 hrs of Spanish or French, when dual majoring with 21 hrs in Portuguese not 33 hrs (as in regular major) vs 42 total hrs in Dual Major

Why Study Portuguese?

I study Portuguese because I want to broaden my knowledge of other cultures, and because I will be more marketable with both Spanish and Portuguese when I graduate.

I've enjoyed my first semester of Portuguese and have decided to dual major in it along with Spanish because of the comparisons between the two languages which make it easy to learn. *Rachel Farrar

The dual major program offers not lnly a better way to get acclimated to the world around you, but lets you do it with less class time! It is definately worth it, especially if you have interest in the nuances or Romanc languages.
