Mission Statements

The mission of GLOBE Iowa is:

To promote the goals of The GLOBE Program throughout Iowa through teacher training and support.

GLOBE Iowa does this by providing free training to Iowa teachers in GLOBE protocols, GLOBE and Project WET learning activities and related technology. GLOBE Iowa also supports teachers after workshops with updated information, new materials, technical assistance, loans of GPS units, and other services.

The goals of The GLOBE Program are:

• to enhance the environmental awareness of individuals throughout world;
• to contribute to scientific understanding of the Earth; and
• to help all students reach higher levels of achievement in scien nd mathematics.

The mission of Iowa Project WET is:

To provide formal and nonformal educators with water education training and resources by developing a network of Project WET educators throughout the State of Iowa and empowering all water users to affect responsible actions regarding water-related issues.

The goal of Project WET is to facilitate and promote the awareness, appreciation, knowledge and steward ship of water resources through the development and dissemination of classroom ready teaching aids and through the establishment of state sponsored Project WET programs. Project WET is Water Education for Teachers.
