Project WET and Girl Scouts

The mission statement of Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) is:

To inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy resourceful citizens.

One strategy GSUSA uses to meet this mission is to provide opportunities for every girl to participate in a wide variety of experiences. These activities range from career exploration, recreation, leadership, current events, planning, business, fashion, environmental protection, and community service to exploring cultural heritage and celebrating being a girl.

The mission of Project WET is to facilitate and promote the awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the development and dissemination of classroom ready teaching aids and through the establishment of state sponsored Project WET programs. Partnerships between these two organizations will aid both programs in their respective missions.

Project WET fits into the Girl Scout program by aiding girls in becoming responsible water users.
