Technology Infusion Presentation
240:237 Coordinating Technology in an Educational Setting
50 points

The best way to understand how technology can support curriculum is by examining actual implementations. Here is your opportunity to share with your colleagues an example of how technology is successfully supporting educational curriculum. A rich resource for viewing how technology can support curriculum is UNI's InTime website. Spend a few minutes reviewing some of the videos in the InTime collection. (http://www.intime.uni.edu/)

You MAY work with a partner if you wish.

Assignment:

Identify an example where technology is used to support curriculum. Visit the classroom or educational setting where this technology is being used. Interview the educator who is responsible for this learning situation. Interview the responsible educator so that you can answer the following questions:

  • Identify the school setting (grade level, number of students, subject area, school demographics, etc.).
  • Explain/show how the technology is used to support the curriculum.
  • What standards and/or benchmarks are matched to this use of technology?
  • What differences has the educator seen in the learning of the students because of this integration?
  • What sort of support issues has the educator experienced? (in-servicing, maintenance, etc.)
  • What visions does that educator have for the future of this implementation?

Presentation:

You will have 7 minutes to do your presentation. During this presentation, you will be expected to share with your colleagues what you found in your explorations.

How you want to portray your findings is up to you and your available resources. It doesn't have to be a QuickTime movie, but some sort of pictures could be useful in describing your educational setting. Do what you have to do to get your point across. Pay careful attention to the rubric below. Every section must be described to receive full credit.
