| You have completed your outline and Dr. Z has reviewed and returned it to you. Now it's time to write the first draft of your paper.
Assignment
Specifications:
Write a paper
at least 8 pages and no longer than 10 pages in length (This is 8-10 pages of actual
content. It does not include the title page, abstract, table
of contents, reference page, or appendix.)
You might want to use the UNI Instructional Technology Masters Paper template. It is a Word document that has been formatted. You just need to add your content.
Include
the following parts:
It is understood that this is your first draft and that you are awaiting input from your professor. You are expected, however, to have read and understood the expected contents of your paper (see graduate packet and literature review outline). You will also be expected to have read and understood the required APA format.
Due to the formative nature of the rough draft, the grading will be somewhat lenient. YOUR requirements for crafting your final paper are to pay attention to feedback notes provided to you in the returned version AND the rubric that is provided for the final paper.
Your final paper will be graded as a whole product based upon the rubric supplied. It is expected that you will use proper APA format, spelling and grammar. Not all of your spelling and/or grammar errors will be found by your professor in reviewing your rough draft. Therefore, not being informed of an error in the rough draft is NOT a valid excuse for having an error in your final paper.
Review
the rubric below. This is how Dr. Z will evaluate your
paper so it only makes sense for you to use the rubric to evaluate
your paper before you submit it. The descriptions of the paper's
parts given above are rather vague. These have all been defined
in your readings and in lectures in class. The rubric provides
a much more specific definition of what will be expected so it will
provide you with the necessary specifications.
Submit:
- Submit your paper
in the eLearning Assignment drop box by class time on the due date.
- Name your first draft with your last name and then "firstdraft" (i.e.,
zeitzfirstdraft.doc). Include the .doc extension at
the end.
Evaluation: Rubric
for evaluating the first draft of the APA Research Review Paper
NOTE: This First Draft assignment may not be resubmitted for additional credit.
