Software Evaluations

30 points (3 evaluations worth 10 points each.)

When working as a team, it is essential to agree upon quality standards. Instead of merely discussing standards, it is more revealing to have each member of the team independently evaluate the same software and then compare the evaluations as a group. These evaluations are intended to be the basis of discussion and the beginning of a joint agreement in quality standards.

Your assignment is to agree upon three software programs that you will evaluate. Use the evaluation form from the Alessi and Trollip book to evaluate the software (
click here to get the Word file so you can type your evaluation). Simply identifying each of the criteria as Acceptable or Needs Work is not enough. Use the Comments section to explain why you have reached your conclusion. This will cause you to evaluate more deeply and provide a basis for you group discussion when you write your collaborative paper that explains your team's quality standards based upon the similarities and differences of your groups' reviews.
