Francis L. Webster Scholarship
The Francis L. Webster Women's Studies Scholarship is awarded annually. It is a $500 scholarship (may be divided between two recipients). The recipient must be a minor in the Women's & Gender Studies undergraduate program with at least six hours of the required core courses.
Criteria include:
- Academic achievement (recommended 3.0 grade point average, and above)
- Involvement in the Women's & Gender Studies Program and in women's and gender issues
- Commitment to diversity in activism and scholarship
- Responsibility and initiative
Francis L. Webster was the first woman to teach at UNI and the only woman among the founders of what is today called the University of Northern Iowa.
