Prevention Programming
Peer Health Educators
Three to four student staff are trained and work as Peer Health Educators taking wellness programming into the residence halls and Greek houses on our campus. They facilitate such programs as Empathy Belly; Too Much, Too Fast; Organ Donation; Condom Sense; Massage; Healthy Intimate Relationships; and Facebook Fallout. To schedule a program for your group, please call the Wellness Resource Lab at 319-273-6119.
Violence/Alcohol Education and Prevention
UNI has placed a great deal of resources toward prevention and education initiatives relating to violence and alcohol use in the college setting. These initiatives range from programming and training, to awareness campaigns, speakers and events.
If you are interested in having a program, presentation or training session for your group, we can provide this service from what we have developed, or we will tailor the content to best meet the needs of your group.
To schedule a program, presentation, training session, or just to gain further information, please contact Mark Rowe-Barth, Substance Abuse Services Coordinator, or 319-273-3423.
Research tells us that anywhere from 50-90% of all sexual assaults among college-aged individuals involves alcohol; whether it was the victim, perpetrator or both who had been drinking. Learn more about gender-based violence in the college-setting…
