- SPORTSMANSHIP:
- TEAM MANAGER:
- RULES:
- Length of game: Will be 15 points or 20 minutes, whatever occurs first. Warm up should be taken prior to game time. Whistle will be blown to indicate time has started and scoreclock horn will sound at the end of 20 minutes. Teams must be ready to go.
- Starting the game: The game will be played 1/2 court and a coin toss will determine who gets ball out first. The ball is put in play at the mid-court line at beginning of game, on jump balls and after every basket.
- Scoring: Games will be played to 15 points with each basket counting as one. Teams need not win by 2 points, the first to 15 wins or the team ahead at the 20 minute signal. The ball is put in play at mid-court by the defensive team after every basket. Score should be called out after every basket to ensure proper scoring. (Ball must be put "in play" within five seconds).
- Change of possession: The ball must be brought back to the top of free throw circle after every change of possession regardless of whether the ball hits the backboard or the rim.
- Fouls: No free throws will be shot. Called fouls will result in the ball out of bounds to the offended team, unless a basket was made during the foul and the foul was on the defense. In this case the basket counts and the ball is awarded to the team scored on. (If fouled and time runs out, team gets one more possession and sudden death).
- Jump ball: Jump balls will alternate possession between teams with the first jump going out of bounds at the top of the free throw circle to the team that lost the flip at the start of the game.
- Time outs: Each team is allowed 1 one minute time out during the game to be called only when the ball is dead or in their possession. No time outs may be called during the last 5 minutes of play.
- Substitutes: Teams may substitute during dead ball situations.
- End of game: Game ends at 15 points or 20 minutes. The winning team must report results to the Intramural Sport Supervisor. A tie is recorded as 1/2 win and 1/2 loss.
- Forfeit: Game time is forfeit time! A team that misses two Saturdays is dropped from play and forfeits the $50.00 fee.
- Teams: A maximum of 4 players may be used by each team.
- Tournament: First team to 15 points wins. No time limit.
- Intramural ID Policy: A valid UNI ID card must be presented to IM staff prior to playing each scheduled Saturday.
