Since participation in the intramural sports program is on a voluntary basis, neither the University nor Wellness and Recreation Services will accept responsibility for injuries sustained while participating in the program. Participants are responsible for any and all costs arising out of injury, death, or property damage sustained through participation. All participants are strongly encouraged and advised to provide their own health insurance coverage and receive a yearly health examination. High-risk activities may require signing an acknowledgement of risk and waiver form.

All injuries should be reported to the supervisor in charge at the time of the accident.

(Mouth guards are highly recommended for flag football, basketball, and other contact sports.)

During major intramural activities, the Sports Medicine Program provides facilities and trained personnel to assist any injured participant. The training room is located in the Wellness and Recreation Center. Injuries of a more serious nature are referred to city hospitals and the cost is borne by the participant.
