Intramural Officials Program

All intramural sport officials are students at the University of Northern Iowa. Starting pay rate is $7.25/per hour for the first semester worked and those with longevity in the program are further compensated. Previous officiating experience or certification not required, training programs are held prior to each sport. Team sports, where officials are needed, include slow-pitch softball, flag football, 6-on-6 volleyball, 5-on-5 basketball, 4-on-4 volleyball and soccer. Additional work is available with individual/dual sports, meets and tournaments. Off-campus opportunities are also available working extramural events, local youth sport tournaments and junior high athletics. Officiating is an excellent opportunity for students on the Work-Study program.

Sport Supervisors

Sport Supervisors are responsible for direct supervision of intramural contests, assist with administration and supervision of individual/dual sports, meets and tournaments, assist with training and evaluation of officials, assist with record keeping/posting of contest results and distribution of program equipment and supplies. Sport Supervisors are individuals who have prior experience in the program as officials (one year minimum). Current first aid/CPR certification required.
