Registration: WRC 101 or My Universe
Payments: Fees must be received prior to class to complete registration.
Refunds: To receive a refund you must cancel your class within seven days of the class start date,
a $3 processing fee will be charged.
Preparing for Class: Please bring paper and a writing utensil to take notes during class.
Course Books: Full course prices (non-recertification or review courses) include course books.
Class Size: The minimum enrollment size is 6 participants.
Waiting Lists: If a class is full, a waiting list will be available. If a student drops out of
the class, individuals on the waiting list will be notified.
Private Certification Program
Private classes will be offered for most courses through the WRS. To schedule a private class with an instructor please call Kristi O’Brien in the WRC office at (319) 273-7263.

Camp Adventure Participants
Camp Adventure students must complete certification training in one of the following options:
- First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguarding
- First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Shallow Water Attendant
Graduation Requirements for Specified Majors
Leisure Youth and Human Services Majors must complete
certification training before graduation in the following:
Physical Education Majors must complete certification training before graduation in the following:
Students going into the following fields are recommended to have First Aid,
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Bloodborne
Pathogens: Preventing Disease Transmission certifications:
- Teaching
- Youth Work
- Elder Care
- Nursing
- Military Service
- Recreation Programming
