The original UNI purple and gold for the web was chosen around 2000, after testing of a variety of monitors and platforms. Back then, monitors were predominently CRTs. Today, with a solid shift to LCD monitors and laptops, the original UNI purple isn't as true to the print purple as we'd like. Research has again been conducted, and a new purple (#4B116F) has been selected for the web, to replace the original purple (#660099) as UNI web developers make updates to their sites.
