Search Engine Optimization Training

Ben FinkleaOn Wednesday, August 11 and Thursday, August 12, there were two training sessions on Search Engine Optimization. Presenting the program was be Ben Finklea, the CEO of Volacci, a very well-regarded SEO firm in a field that is dominated by a lot of ineffective, or worse, unscrupulous consultants.  Ben is also author of Drupal 6 Search Engine Optimization.

Each session was free, and open to employees from the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Iowa. It was sponsored by the UNI's Office of University Relations and UNI ITS Educational Technology.

SEO for tech staff and content editors

The first was all-day session for tech staff and content editors on Wednesday, which will include information both on general search engine optimization and techniques specific to working on SEO in Drupal. The presentation slides are available below for this session. A video of the session is not available.

The non-technical version for management staff

On Thursday morning, there will be a two-hour overview session for deans, directors, departments heads, managers, anyone in charge of a site, but not involved in the day-to-day maintenance. The presentation slides are available below for this session, as well as a video of the session.
