McNair Scholars Program Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible to apply if you have/are:

  • A minimum cumulative (GPA) of  2.7 or higher
  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • The first generation in your family to graduate from college and low income, as suggested by the U.S. Department of Education OR
  • From a group underrepresented in Graduate Education: Black (non-Hispanic), Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiians, and Native American Pacific Islanders
  • Intending to pursue a doctoral–level degree after graduation
